At Little Giant Pediatrics, every child receives compassionate, specialized care tailored to their unique medical and developmental needs. Located in Tampa, our PPEC center provides a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children can grow, play, and thrive.
Our bilingual, family-centered team works closely with parents to ensure smooth communication and peace of mind. With flexible hours and transportation support, we aim to be a trusted partner and an extension of your home, supporting your child and family every step of the way.

What's a PPEC
Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) is a Medicaid covered program offering skilled nursing and therapeutic services in a day care setting for children under 21 years of age with complex medical needs.
Who qualifies for medicaid PPEC coverage?
To qualify for Medicaid coverage of PPEC services, your child will need to meet other general Medicaid eligibility criteria and specific PPEC requirements.
PPEC Specific Eligibility
- Be between birth and 20 years old
- Have complex medical condition requiring skilled nursing care
- Be medically stable enough for outpatient care
- Have a prescription from a physician for PPEC services

Obtain a Physician’s Order
A physician’s referral or order is required to enroll your child in our PPEC program. If needed, our team is happy to guide you through this process.

Plan of Care and Authorization
Our clinical team develops an individualized Plan of Care tailored to your child’s medical needs and submits all required documentation to obtain authorization for services.

Enrollment and Transportation Coordination
After enrollment, our team partners with families to ensure seamless care coordination and transportation. When available, provider supervised transportation is offered to help your child travel safely to and from our center.

Nutritional support & feeding assistance
Nutritional support and feeding assistance are designed to ensure that children and adolescents receive proper nutrition based on their medical and developmental needs. We provide personalized guidance and care to promote healthy growth and safe eating habits.
Transportation services
Our transportation services provide safe and reliable rides for children and adolescents to and from medical appointments or therapy sessions. We ensure punctual, attentive support to give families peace of mind.
